PWEDF Appoints Mrs. Omolola Oluwole-David as Director of Partnership in Diaspora
The Board of the Platform for Women in Economics and Development Foundation (PWEDF) has officially appointed Mrs. Omolola Oluwole-David as the Director of Partnership in Diaspora.
In her new role, Mrs. Omolola will work closely with the Diaspora Coordinator, Ms. Irene Zawistowska, to strengthen partnerships, expand the Foundation's global network, and create opportunities that will add value to the PWEDF family.
During the announcement, the President and Founder of PWEDF, Dr. Annette Mubarak, challenged the newly appointed Director by asking what value she intended to bring to the organization.
Responding to the question, Mrs. Omolola expressed her commitment to advancing the Foundation's mission by building strategic collaborations with both local and international educational institutions. She revealed plans to facilitate an educational loan support scheme for members of the PWEDF family, aimed at easing the financial burden of tuition fees for international schools.
Further engaging the discussion, the PWEDF Internal Auditor and Treasurer, Dr. Gina Attoe, asked Mrs. Omolola how she intended to directly support members of the PWEDF family. In response, Mrs. Omolola generously pledged to sponsor and award a scholarship to one child or ward of a PWEDF member, with the beneficiary to be selected based on merit and the decision of the PWEDF Board.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Annette Mubarak President/Founder expressed profound appreciation for Mrs. Omolola's generous commitments and congratulated her on her appointment. She stated that the Foundation looks forward to seeing her leverage her office, experience, and network to create lasting opportunities and meaningful impact for the PWEDF family.
